Experts say ibuprofen can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke

Growing up we have been told that a healthy diet and regularly exercise are two key components to living a long life. But even if you do eat your veggies and go for jogs, you can still suffer from a bit of pain. That’s when painkillers come in to save the day.

For the occasional back pain or headache you might want to reach for the Ibuprofen. These pills will help you deal with the pain temporarily. However, doctors are now saying that they might be doing more harm than good.

Although you may achieve a quick fix to that ache of yours, using this stuff in the long run can actually be toxic to your health. According to experts, the use of painkillers can actually increase your risk of heart attack and stroke.


The risk attached to the use of these pills is still a lot smaller than the increased risk from smoking, but it still increases your chances of heart problems. Following the research, aspirin companies are now planning to add these risks to their labels in order for consumers to be aware of the effects.

If you are dealing with pain, a safer alternative to painkillers is by using turmeric. This plant also comes in powder form and can be used for its healing powers.

Mix together one cup of honey, juice from a lemon, and a tablespoon of turmeric. Drink the concoction three times a day to get rid of your pain.
If this drink isn’t for you, you can also try adding turmeric to your everyday drinks and meals. Blend it in your smoothies to hide the flavor.
